October is always a fabulous month in the mountains. The colors change seemingly from hour to hour. The view above is what we see to our northeast. The tallest mountain is Roan Mountain (and Tennessee). Roan Mountain has already seen snow this year - the first weekend of October.

We still enjoy life here in the mountains of North Carolina. Ian continues working in an internal medicine practice in the nearby town of Spruce Pine. And he works more than full time on all that is involved with living in the mountains. Susan still paints and occasionally works on websites. click here for susan's art website

We like to brag about the grand kids. There are 6 now. They are all beautiful and brilliant. <grin> Seriously, though, we have a 10 year old granddaughter and an 8 year old grandson in Texas. A 6 year old granddaughter in Arizona, and 3 granddaughters - 5, 3 and less than 1, in California.
